Wedding Tasting FAQs
Some questions that are frequently asked by brides and grooms:
Q: Why do you charge for the tastings?
A: Good question. We make your four flavors fresh every time, and you will meet with our designer to plan out your custom cake. For these two reasons, we charge for the tasting. However that goes towards the cost of your cake if you book with us, so if we make your wedding cake, tastings are free! We offer items from our front shop, and almost everything is under $2, so by the time you are scheduling a formal tasting with us, we hope you have a good idea of what we are all about, and that you enjoy what we bake, and are pretty confident you want to go with us.
Q: I want to serve several flavors, can I taste more than 4?
A: We are happy you like cake so much! For the consulation, we make 4 flavors because it is enough for the tasters to try a good variety of flavors to see if we are the bakery for them, but not too much that it is harder to choose the flavors of your cake. Most wedding cakes are 2-3 flavors, so choosing from 5 or 6 can be difficult. However, once a bride and groom book their cake with us, if they are still interested in tasting more/different flavors, we are happy to set up another tasting, or provide a little to-go box, depending on your schedule, at no additional charge.
Q: Can I bring children to my tasting?
A: We love kids. They are always welcome. However, the tastings generally take over an hour, and there is not a lot for children to do during this time. If you bring along a little entertainment for them, everyone will be happy.
Q: What are your most popular flavors?
A: The champagne cake with strawberries and whipped cream, and chocolate cake with nutella mousse are our two most popular flavors. When choosing your cakes, pick flavors you enjoy, but also keep in mind what would please the majority of your guests. That way everyone will be happy and filled with cake.
